George F. Eckert was a native of Baltimore. He was a former ship inspector for the Navy. He was an associate supervisor in the office of the Navy's Supervisor of Shipbuilding located in Camden, New Jersey from 1954 until his retirement in 1966. A mason he was a member of Trimble Lodge 117 in Camden and the Excelsior Consistory and the Crescent Temple of the Shrine in Trenton. His wife the former Anna E. Pennewell, died in 1956.
He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Elizabeth G. Sparr and Mrs. Sarah F. Foster; three sisters, Mrs Elsie Ross, Mrs. Minnie Upton and Mrs. Rose Elliott all of Baltimore and five brothers, Bernard Eckert of West Virginia, Henry Eckert, John Eckert, Alton Eckert and Arthur Eckert all of Baltimore.
