A lifelong resident of Marblehead, Mrs. Dane was the daughter of the late Roger and Agnes (McCoy) Hartman.
She was a graduate of Marblehead schools and was employed during World War II at the telephone company in Salem. Later, she was employed in the Marblehead school system.
Mrs. Dane was a devoted mother to her children. She loved animals and was a supporter of the Friends of Marblehead's Abandoned Animals.
Surviving her are one son, Robert Dane and his wife, Jane, of Gloucester; one daughter, Norma A. Dane of Limerick, Maine; and one sister, Elinor Donovan and her husband, William, of Plaistow, N.H.
She was the sister of the late Roger Hartman Jr.
A private memorial service is planned. Arrangements are by Berube & Sons Funeral Home of Salem.
