Dorothy R "Dottie" Rush, died peacefully at home on 2 Dec 2009. Dottie was born to Charles and Dorothy Sampair in Tacoma, WA 7 Dec 1933. She was brought up in the home of her grandparents, Tom & Mabel Lester. She graduated from Clover Park High School in 1953. While working at the Lakewood Ice Arena, she met Frank Rush and they were married on 1 Aug 1953. They were married 55 years before Frank's death in 2008. They moved into a home on Cooper Point Rd., where they raised 6 children. Dottie was a "stay at home" mom, and later in life was employed by St Michael's Church rectory. She loved spending time with her family, decorating her home for every holiday, and picking wild blackberries. She was also involved for many years with the Orthopedic and Alter Guide, and the St Therese of the Child Jesus Guild. She is survived by her four brothers; two sisters, her children, Patti, Jim, Debi, Tami, and John; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and their son Michael. Please join the family for a memorial service on 16 December at 11:00 am at Calvary Chapel Chapel, 919 Division St., Olympia, WA, with a reception to follow. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Providence SouthHomeCare and Hospice (3432 South Bay Rd, NE Olympia, WA 98509. The Olympian 6 Dec 2009 pg A4
