On Friday morning about 9 o'clock, Oct. 8, 1926, the death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Carpenter of Kingston, Ark., and called from their midst their eldest son, Estus. Estus was born Nov. 5th, 1910; was taken with typhoid fever a few weeks prior to his death. All medical aid, nurse's care and all that loving hands could do, was all in vain. He was a model boy in his home and was loved by all who knew him. If he ever professed a hope in Christ we never knew it, but he lived such sweet and pure life we fell that all is well with him forever, and believe that when we shall cross the crystal river and enter the presence of God that we shall meet Estus again, where no tears shall dim the eye; when sorrow never comes, neither sickness nor dying. No sad farewell. May we all live so as to be ready when our summons shall come. he leaves father, mother, two brothers and two sisters to mourn his loss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. James Grigg and Henry Steele. Many beautiful floral offerings were given. He was laid to rest in the Kingston cemetery.
