He was born on March 18, 1937 in Industry to Samuel and Edith Coker Teel.
He is survived by two sons, Nicholas (Chelsea) Teel of Macomb and Rodney Teel Wilson of Pekin; one daughter, Kimberly Surratt of Industry; several grandchildren; two brothers, Meredith Teel of Rock Island and Jackie (Lee) of Industry; two sisters, Luan (Bob) Kendrick of Table Grove and Lola Coplan of Macomb and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister.
He lived in Industry and Macomb for many years. He worked as a tool and die maker at Haeger Pottery in Macomb for many years.
He was a Marine Veteran serving from 1954 to 1958.
He was a member of the Macomb VFW, Macomb American Legion and the 40 et 8 Club.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Wally Holt officiating. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery were full military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the MDH Hospice Program.
