Daniel Eugene "Danny" Lunsford, owner and founder of Lunsford Musical Instruments, died Wednesday at UT Medical Center after an extended illness.

Lunsford Musical Instruments recently celebrated 20 years in business. Mr. Lunsford was an active supporter of youth organizations, including the Boy Scouts, and was widely known for promoting musical programs throughout the region.

Mr. Lunsford's hobbies included horseback riding, golf and music.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.

Services will follow at 8 p.m. Interment will be at noon Saturday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
