Preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Mitchell Carbin, whom he married in 1958, and his parents, Frank Carbin & Jessie Downing Carbin.
He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York in 1947, and the American University in Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, and later, the Korean War.
He worked at the National Headquarters of the Future Farmers of American in Fairfax County, VA, for 32 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling to many places, especially spending the winters in Venice, Florida. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 602 and the American Legion Post No. 24.
