Tom Adams, well known farmer residing about six miles south of Douglas died suddenly at his home Saturday night. He was 64 years of age. Mr. Adams was a member of the large family prominent in this section and reared near the place of his death, and had farmed all of his active career.
Several years ago he affiliated with the Morman or Church of the Latter Day Saints and his funeral was conducted at the Cumorrah Church Monday at 11 a.m. Elder Raymond Carver of Douglas, aided by Archie Henley of Nashville conducted the services with the Douglas Undertaking Company in charge of funeral arrangements.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife and an adopted son, Morris Adams, of Savannah. He was the son of the late Joseph J. Adams and Annie Joanna Ricketson Davis, who were among the first settlers in this section. One sister, Mrs. Emma McKinnon survived.
Active pall bearers were Harold Adams, Leon Mills, John J. Adams, Theo McKinnon, Oline Adams and Tom Spivey. An honorary escort was N. H. Hersey, Clarence King, C. V. Willard, Ben O'Steen, E. E.
