Edward Thomas Southworth passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at his beloved home in Solana Beach, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Corona, Calif., on March 16, 1921.
He proudly served his country in the 8th Army-Air Corp from 1941-1945.
While stationed in the British Isles, he met and married his Irish wife of 65 years.
He is survived by his wife, Molly; and their three children and spouses, Doreen Bogner of Solana Beach, Terence (Christy) Southworth of Wildomar, and Patricia (Joseph) Lewis of Vista; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Stanley; two sisters, Theresa and Betty Jean; and numerous nieces and nephews. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements have been made with El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd., San Diego, Calif. Viewing will be on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 12 noon-4 pm. Services will be on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 12 noon, both at El Camino Memorial Park.
