"The LaFayette Sun" - November 15, 1911:
Mrs. L. M. Treadwell.
After a protracted illness of several months, Mrs. L. M. Treadwell died at her home on South Edwards Street last Monday evening at 5:30 o’clock. A few days before her death she apparently was on the mend, but her heart began to fail and at the time mentioned ceased to beat and she passed to the bright beyond. Mrs. Treadwell was known everywhere she has lived for her sweet Christian character. Thought afflicted for years, she bore up her affliction with cheerful Christian fortitude.
She was born and reared in Chambers County. Her family, the Tatums, are the pioneers of Chambers. She was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, of this place, and was always true to her church vows. Her death, though looked for at any time, brought sadness to her relatives and many friends in Enterprise. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Harrison and Miss Ada Treadwell and husband, Dr. L. M. Treadwell and several brothers and sisters to mourn their great loss. The remains were interred in the city cemetery last Wednesday morning, Rev. B. C. Glenn, her pastor, officiated. – Enterprise (Ala.) Ledger.
Mrs. Treadwell was raised in Chambers County and had many friends here. She was a sister of Messrs. A. A. and A. S. Tatum, of this place.
