Virgil Douglas Baldwin, of Central Point, Ore., passed away Thursday, May 21,
2009. A graveside service was held Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Rock
Point cemetery in Gold Hill, Ore.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Effie Baldwin; daughters,
Virginia Huffman and Karen Barnes; five grandchildren, Douglas Huffman, Patrick
Huffman, Amanda Knapp, Davina Barnes, Shawna Barnes; and seven
great-grandchildren.
Virgil was born in Beagle, Ore. (now known as Sams Valley) on Aug. 4, 1928, he
was preceded in death by his two brothers; three sisters; and his parents, Olive
and Earl Baldwin.
His most admired characteristic that he will always be remembered for was his
ability to communicate with anyone, "he never met a stranger".
