"SLAYBAUGH, ANNA MAE—Mrs. Anna Mae Slaybaugh, wife of John F. Slaybaugh, was born June 26, 1883, to John and Rachel Archer in Chelsea township, near Geneva, Neb. She passed away Saturday, June 13, 1959, at the hospital in York at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 17 days.
She embraced the Christian faith at an early age. She was baptized in the United Brethren church at Martland in 1906.
January 10, 1900, she was united in marriage to John F. Slaybaugh. To this union were born two sons, Clarence of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Lloyd of Geneva and a daughter, Mrs. Hilda M. Kuhns of Detroit, Mich.
Mrs. Slaybaugh leaves to mourn her passing her husband three children, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
For the past two years Mr. and Mrs. Slaybaugh have been residents of Sunset Home due to feeble health.
Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Monday, June 15, Dr. Walter E. Bachman, pastor of the Geneva Evangelical United Brethren church officiated. A quartet form Salem Mennonite church, Waldean Kuhns, Glen Roth, Henry Lauber and Wayne Kempf sang. The selections were “Rock of Ages,” “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder,” and “With My Savior Through the Shadows.” Pallbearers were Donald Slaybaugh, Robert Slaybaugh, Harold Dean Kuhns, Alvah Miller and Fred Fox. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
