Henry J. Golemme Henry J. Golemme ROCKLAND Henry J. Golemme, 86 of Rockland died surrounded by his family at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on November 4, 2009. He was born in Pembroke, son of the late Guiseppe and Antonetta (Lanzillotta) Golemme. He was raised and educated in Rockland and was a lifelong resident of the town. Henry was a proud veteran of the armed services serving in the Navy during World War II. During the war Mr. Golemme served in Italy and N. Africa driving a Landing Craft, and acting as a Translator. Mr. Golemme went on to work for many years as a Machinist for the H.H. Arnold Company in Rockland. After retiring in 1985 Henry went to work as a courier for Bagnell Auto Parts in Rockland. Henry loved to Garden, and was known for the wonderful vegetables that his garden produced. He was an avid bowler, who used to love to bowl at the Old Rockland Bowladrome. He was a great handyman, loved to play the Lottery, and was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan. More than anything though he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Henry was the loving Husband of Dorothy (Phillips) Golemme. He is survived by his children, Henry J. Golemme and his wife Geraldine of Rockland, Donna M. Chandler and her husband Richard of Hanover, and Raymond J. Golemme and his wife Alice of Rockland. Brother of Paul R. Golemme of Rockland, Joseph Golemme of Hanover, and the late Arthur J. Golemme, John P. Golemme, Louis Golemme, Frank Golemme, and Robert E. Golemme. Also survived by six grandchildren, Tina McDougall, Douglas Golemme, Julie Gelardi, Nicholas Golemme, Jason Chandler, and Eric Chandler. Six great-grandchildren, Steven and Sophia McDougall, Ellianna and Benett Gelardi, and Olivia and Rachael Golemme. Nine nieces and nephews. A Funeral will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St. Rockland. A prayer service will be held prior to the Mass at 8:15 a.m. in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St., ROCKLAND. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 3 - 6 p.m. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Abington.
