Funeral services were held Saturday, September 2, at the Legion Hut in Kingston for Mrs. Millie Burke, 81, of Loy. Mrs. Burke, who suffered a paralytic stroke about 2 1/2 years ago, had been an invalid since. At the time of her death she was living with her daughter, Mrs. Mattie Carpenter, at Broken Arrow, Okla.

The deceased was born December 29, 1869, at Whorton, Ark., the daughter of Randy and Sara Bolinger Whorton. She was married to Jim Burke on November 11, 1890, who preceded her in death about 10 years. She was a member of the Baptist church for 63 years.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Maudie Carpenter of Woodland, Calif., Mrs. Mattie Carpenter of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Mrs. Tilda Fancher of Loy. One daughter died in childhood; three sisters, Ollie Burke, Whorton, Maudie Rittenhouse and Sina Strahand of Hollister, MO., and Frona Layton of Branson, Mo.; fifteen grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted by Rev. Vivan Rhodes of Huntsville with burial in the Kingston cemetery under the direction of the Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jim and Burr Fancher of Loy, Sam Fancher of Kingston and Lee Sidney, and Oral Carpenter all of Broken Arrow, Okla., all grandsons of the deceased.
