D. R. (Dick) Anderson of Ellisville, departed this life on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2:35pm at the age of 90 at his residence in Ellisville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Ellisville United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Ducker officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, 601-477-3797

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Ellisville Funeral Home and Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1:00 – 3:00 at Ellisville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Deason and Laura Louise Lawrence Anderson; daughter, Ellen T. Thompson and ten brothers and sisters.

Mr. Anderson attended J.C.J.C., Ole Miss and received his B.S. in Accounting from USM. He was active and honored in may civic and professional organizations, including managing Ellisville Custom Canners, serving as Mayor of Ellisville for fourteen years, serving in the Mississippi House of Representatives for eight years, serving on the executive committee for the National Soft Drink Association for eight consecutive years, twice elected as President of the Ellisville Jaycees, recipient of the Jaycees National Spoke Award, member of the Ellisville Masonic Lodge and was the 1993 J.C.J.C. Honor Alumnus of the year.

He was a devoted Christian and active member of the Ellisville United Methodist Church. Prayer was of key importance of his daily living, as all of his family can attest. He was a loving husband, daddy and papaw. He was loved by many and shall be missed by all who called him friend.

Survivors include his wife, Aline Anderson, Ellisville; daughters, Beverly P. Cagel (Willard)of Suwannee, GA, Sharon D. Howard of Ellisville, Carla Bounds (Tony)of Ellisville; son, Grant Hedgepeth (Marlana) of Ellisville; brother, Dr. T.J. (Bub) Anderson, grandchildren, Lisa Ann Walters, Jack Neil Linge, Samuel Landon Howard, Aaron Micah Howard, Halli C. Stokes, Dr.Serena Hill LaRoche, Richard D. Hill, Christopher Thompson, Lillian Delys Trest, Hope Elizabeth Perkins, Austin Allen Perkins, Abbey K. Crosby, Lauren Bounds, Wilson Bounds and Shelby Bounds; nine great grandchildren, and four great,great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Adam Trest, Dickey Wilkerson, Drew Crosby, Wayne Howard, Austin Perkins, Roland Graves and honorary pallbearers will be O.L. Nix, Clarence Putnam, William R.Sparrow, Jr., Dr. Paul Cotten, Gus Townsend, Ira G. (Sonny) Graves, Thomas W. Wilkerson and Allen Horne.
