Smith, daughter of William H. Smith, and his first wife, Marsha (North), born June 7th, 1828, in New Britain. He is a successful practicing physician in New Britain. He has traveled in Europe, and has been to California. He resided in the old house of his father, on Main Street, opposite the Central Park. He was mayor of the city in 1873, 1874, and 1875. His wife died June 16th, 1857, aged 29 years, when he second married November 10th, 1864, in St. Marks Church, Margaret C. Smyth, daughter of William B., and his wife, Annie (Goldsborough), born October 18th, 1846, in Easton, Md.
