The funeral for Joseph Nobles Castleberry, 70, well-known insurance executive who died of cardiac arrest at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches was held Sunday, April 5, at Fredonia Hill Baptist Church. Rev. George Dodson and Rev. C. B. Anderson lead the service and Bro. Bill Townsley conducted the music. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park.
A lifetime resident of Nacogdoches, Mr. Castleberry was born Nov. 10, 1910 the son of Dr. Marion Castleberry and Martha Crawford Castleberry. His wife Eunice Collins Castleberry preceded him in death. Joseph was associated with Castleberry Insurance Agency, a member of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church and Milam Lodge No. 2 A.F.& A.M. He was also active in the Sheriff's Reserve.
Surviving are one daughter, Carol Ann Bland of Tyler, one son Joseph M (Buddy) Castleberry of Nacogdoches, three sisters Mrs. Velma Bridwell, Mrs. Mary Lou Pitts, and Mrs. Belle Holland all of Nacogdoches; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services directed by Laird Funeral Home, 2116 South Street, Nacogdoches, Texas.
