Sims Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland and from 12:30 p.m. to funeral time Saturday at New Rising Sun Baptist Church in Houma. Religious service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Crescent Farm Cemetery in Houma.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Sims Sr. of Gray; her mother, Joyce Robertson Robinson of Gibson; one son, Samuel Sims Jr. of Gray; two daughters, Tanika and husband, David, Guidroz of Raceland and Lorraine M. Sims of Gray; three brothers, Joseph B. Robinson IV, James D. Robinson and Curtis R. Robinson, all of Gibson; three sisters, Darlene R. Morgan of New Orleans, Charlene R. Woods of Gibson and Jo Ann R. Short of Patterson; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Robinson Jr.
She was a member of the choir at St. Mark Congregational Church in Schriever.
