Robert I. Burks, 68, died Thursday at his home near Tuscumbia. Mr. Burks was born March 6, 1897, in Miller County, the son of Hasten and Mary Agnew Burks. He was married Dec. 12, 1915, to Esther Pierce. He was a lifelong resident of the Tuscumbia area and a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church, near Tuscumbia.

Survivors include his widow, six daughters, Miss Opal Burks, Mrs. Helen Curry and Mrs. Nina Atwell, all of Tuscumbia, Mrs. Lorene Hodge, Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Agnes Vaccaro, Kansas City, and Mrs. Bonnie Wickham, Granite City, Ill.; two sons, Joe Burks and Junior Burks, both of Kansas City, Kan.

Five sisters, Mrs. Emma Arnold, Kansas City, Mrs. Elsie Abbott, Tuscumbia, Mrs. Grace Ickhoff and Mrs. Grace Herd, both of Jefferson City, and Mrs. Ida Parkhurst, Eldon; one brother, Arthur Burks, Tuscumbia; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Zion Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Sooter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
