Hazel Middleton Crews, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at home.

She was born on June 26, 1928 in Brantley County to the late Benjamin Grooms and Sarah Estelle Adams Middleton. She worked for the Ware County School System, from which she retired after thirty-two years. Mrs. Hazel was a member of the Jesup First United Methodist Church where she attended the Joy Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, her sisters, Alice Miller, Iris Smith and Agnes Rich and her brothers, Howard, Julian, Perry and Vernon Middleton preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Dewey Crews; daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and David Brake; grandson, Kevin Brake and wife, Terri and great grandchildren, Austin and Madison Brake all of Jesup. Her adopted mother, Lillie Watts of Hortense and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Reverends Byron Scott and Tucker Lewis officiating.

Active Pallbearers will be Darryl Smith, Charles Lewis, Ronald Davis, Gary Middleton, Keith Middleton and John Middleton. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School Class.

Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Building Fund at Jesup First United Methodist Church, 205 East Cherry St., Jesup, GA 31546 or Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.
