Born in Buchanan, Mich., the daughter of the late Wilbur and Edna Burns and had lived most of her life in Michigan.
A 1945 graduate of Buchanan High School she was a longtime employee of the Department of Social Services in Benton Harbor, Mich. Mrs. Chadwick had been a Leachville resident since 1988 and was a member of the Second Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Hemminger; and two brothers.
She is survived by two sons, Wilbur Dale Hemminger of Jonesboro and James Thomas Hemminger (Brandi) of Black Oak; one daughter, Eleanor Louise Smith of Leachville; two sisters, Linda Humphreys of Buchanan, Mich., and Pauline Massey of Lawrence, Mich. She also leaves six grand-children and several great-grand-children.
Funeral services were at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Walcott.
