CHANDLER, Ariz. - On Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, Ella Louise Bealky, 85, of Chandler, went home to be with the Lord. She resided at 1833 E Ebony Pl., Chandler, AZ 85249, with her daughter and grandchildren.
Born in Keyser, W.Va., Nov. 30, 1920, to the late George Davis and Susie (Keplinger) Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, who passed away last year, April 1, 2005; her daughter, Janet Louise; her brothers, Kenneth Davis and Harold Davis; and sisters, Ruth Coleman, Margaret Lee Malone and Mary Frances Grigsby.
She will be missed by her son, Robert (Bob Jr.) Bealky, of Chandler; daughter, Cynthia Bealky, of Chandler; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Aaron and Marcus Mattingly all of Chandler; sister-in-law, Helen Davis of Cumberland, who was like a sister to her; cousins in West Virginia, several nieces and nephews in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, California, and North Carolina.
She became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Cumberland in 1939, the year she was married and has been a member ever since. She founded Mapleside Playground, Cumberland, back in the early 1950's as before the neighborhood kids would watch movies and have entertainment in her basement on New Hampshire Avenue, Cumberland. She was an active member and officer of Friend's Aware for many years. She had retired from Gee Bee's Department Store in 1985. She was very active in politics as she was a member of the Allegany County Republican Club from the 1960's-1970's. She loved traveling, going to the casino, making flower arrangements, watching ice skating and being with family. She loved watching hummingbirds and had quite a collection of ceramic ones.
The body will be cremated and services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cumberland, at a later date.
God worked through her life and enabled her to overcome unbelievable obstacles when man thought she could not. There are also incredible stories of where God spared her life, even in situations that appeared impossible to survive. The phenomenal journey of her life has come to an end, but the positive impacts and lifelong lessons she has taught remains. She was a fountain of wisdom for her family, showed the importance of perservance and overall made the world a better place. She is an unforgettable treasure who is greatly missed.
