Mrs. Louisa Vandruff, one of the old residents of the county, died this morning at her home in South Rock Island of complications due to advanced age. She was born in Clyde, N. Y., a daughter of the late Charles and Ann Kirkwood Eberhart, and was 73 years of age Feb. 7. She had been a resident of this county for the past 60 years, during the greater part of which time she lived near Milan with her husband, the late Jacob Vandruff, whom she married Sept. 6, 1849 at Rock Island. The latter passed away in 1880. There are 10 surviving children: Charles H. Laura), of Westland, Iowa; Lemual A. (Lucretia), of Holbrook, Neb.; Oscar S. (Catherine), of Harvard, Neb.; Mrs. James L. (Ella) Wynes, of South Rock Island; Edwin E. (Fannie), of York, Neb.; J. Arthur, of Milan; Mrs. Leven (Anna) Barr, of West Plains, Mo.; Mrs. P. S. (Martha) Merle, of Oakland, Cal.; Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Staley, of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Estelle M., of South Rock Island.
