Elizabeth was born to Samuel Williams & Sobriety 'Bunker' Williams. She was the second child of 7 children. Known as Betsy, she married Nathaniel Winslow in 1803 and to that marriage were born 9 children. Nathaniel died in 1852 in the state of Maine. As many of her family were moving west, she too decided to go...for a number of years they lived in Wisconsin. Then came the Civil War in which family members fought, among those were her granddaughter, Lovina's husband, William J. Witham. In 1874 the Withams, Winslows and others moved on to first Nebraska [where Betsy decided to stay], then others moved on to Kansas. Betsy's daughter Sobriety married John Howard...they had traveled as far as Wisconsin, following the Civil War, John Howard met with an accident & died there in Wisconsin; Sobriety traveled all the way by covered wagon to Kansas. Sobriety was my grandad's grandmother, whom he was quite fond of as a young boy. Betsy would have been his great-grandmother.
