Emma married Gurden Moore Johnson on September 6, 1925 in Ellisville, MS until October 8, 1945 when he died. She was a widow for more than 44 years. They had two identical twin daughters, Dorothy Jean and Christeen, and a son Gurden Moore Johnson, Jr.

Mrs. Johnson worked as an LPN for many years in Ellisiville and had many nieces and nephews. She was known as sweet lady and attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for many years and lived near both daughters until her death in 1989.

ELLISVILLE---Mrs. Emma Lee Johnson, 84, a retired nurse, died of heart failure Saturday at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Services are 10 a. m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was a Jones County natives and member of Mount Zion Methodist Church near Ellisville. She was a licensed practical nurse who retired in 1937.

Mrs. Johnson was the widow of Gurden Moore Johnson Sr.

Survivors include: son, Gurden Moore Johnson Jr. of Ellisvillle; daughters, Dot Pittman of Laurel, Tena Edwards of Ellisville; sisters Lucille Parker of Fairhope, Ala., Christine Anderson and Sadie McCarty both of Ellisville; and five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
