Albert P. Vest was a son of Jackson Vest and wife Nancy Lilly of West Virginia. Mr. Vest was a talented musician and made finely crafted violins, according to niece Nina Vest Bennett Worley.

He was the husband of Hannah Margaret Smith Vest. Mrs. Vest was a daughter of Jacob Smith Jr. Her first husband was Jacob Allen Adkins.

The 1910 U.S.Census for Jumping Branch, Summers County, W.Va., says that Hannah had seven children, four living.
