Clarence J. 'Pete' Arnold, 72 of Swansea, died Wednesday, April 25, 1984 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

He was retired stove mounter, formerly employed at Empire and Eagle Range Foundries; a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1928 CK&L of I, St. Peter's Cathedral Mens Choir for 39 years, Holy Name Society, Stove Mounters Local No. 4 and Swansea Senior Citizens.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother; two sisters and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn, nee Williams, Arnold.

Surviving are his wife, the former Eleanora M. Schaefer whom he married on January 27, 1940 at St. Peter's Cathedral; two sons and daughter-in-law, David J. and Kathleen Arnold of Belleville, Michael G. and Kathryn Arnold of Edwardsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and William B. McDEade of Belleville, Mary and Joseph V. Svec, Jr. of Fairview Heights; two brothers, Edwin Arnold of California and Sylvester Arnold of Conway, AR; a sister, Marcella Just of California and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral processions to leave at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, April 28, from the George Renner and Sons Funeral Home in Belleville to St. Peter's Cathedral for a 10 a.m. funeral mass burial will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery.

A recitation of the rosary was held at 7 p.m. Friday at the George Renner and Sons Funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
