Daughter of Carl Birdsong Teagarden and Emma Perkins. Wife of John Dudley Brutsche.Mary Jane Teagarden Brutsche, 87, passed away in Denton on Monday, Feb. 13, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Dudley Brutsche. She is survived by a son John Brutsche and his wife, Priscilla Brutsche, and daughter, Nancy White and her husband, Dr. John White, and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Janie was a lifelong resident of the Metroplex. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas and attended Southern Methodist University. She was very active at Highland Park United Methodist Church where she and Dudley were one of the founding members of the Mr. and Mrs. class. She was active in many civic organizations and Delta Gamma sorority, where she held several local and national alumni offices.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Sparkman-Hillcrest in Dallas.
