Miss Mary Burgess was born in White County, Tennessee, August 25, 1840, and died at her home near this city December 8, 1916.

She was united in marriage to Mr. S.R. Crowley, of Cookville, Tenn., February 6, 1862. The fruits of this union were seven sons and three daughters. One son died at the age of 18 years, the other children except the oldest son were at the bedside of their mother during most of her sickness and at her death.

Mr. and Mrs. Crowley moved to Kansas in October 1890, after one year they removed to Palco, Mo., where they remained for one year returning to Augusta, where they continued to reside on a farm near the city until death translated them.

Sister Crowley was baptised into Christ by Elder Levi Perkins when she was but 18 years of age and lived a consistent and faithful Christina until her death.

Besides her children, 24 grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers, a host of friends and the church here of which she was a member mourn the loss of this good woman.
