David P. Childers, son of James Childers, Sr., and his wife, Nancy (Jones) Childers, was born in Elbert County, Georgia, about 1806. He moved to Tennessee where he married (1) _________Schism. They had about three children, names unknown. He married (2) Elizabeth Jane Hopkins who was born about 1805.

He was still living when the 1870 Federal Census was taken on Aug. 6, 1870.
