Donald Wayne Chamberlain, 63, of Caldwell, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at his home, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Caldwell, with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Caldwell Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 pm until 9 pm Monday, November 30 with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Don was born August 19, 1946 in Huntsville,Texas, to Guy H. and Thelma Jordan Chamberlain. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1964 and enlisted in the US Navy in 1965 where he served two years of active duty aboard a troop transport ship and saw many parts of the world. Upon separation from active duty, he entered Sam Houston State University, graduating in 1971 with a B.S. Degree and in1977 with a Masters Degree.

Over the years, Don was active in many organizations such as Lions Club, on the board of directors MH-MR and volunteer coordinator for BV-CASA. He also served several terms on the Caldwell Independent School District Board of Trustees-including two terms as President. Since the mid 1990's, he served as Assistant City Administrator and City Secretary for the City of Caldwell. Don was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Caldwell.

He is preceded in death by his father, Guy H. Chamberlain.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Linda Jannett Chamberlain of Caldwell; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Laura Chamberlain of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter, Cristi Chamberlain of Bryan; his mother, Thelma Chamberlain of Trinity; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathy and Ron Cleere and Cindy Chamberlain all of Huntsville; a granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Chamberlain of Cincinnati, OH; two nephews, Jason Cleere and wife, Dana of Angleton and Chris Cleere of Huntsville; three aunts, Geraldine Bemus of Huntsville, Sibyl Scott of Adamsville and Lillie Chamberlain of Trinity; an uncle, David Johnson and wife, Mary Rose of Carthage; and many special cousins and a host of friends.
