J. L. Anderson of Shafer died at his home 3 miles north of there Friday, his death being caused from a tumor on the brain. He was 72 years of age.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Taylors Falls Church with Rev. C. E. Cesander officiating. Burial was also made there.

He is survived by his wife and four sons and daughters: Ludwig Anderson and Mrs. Edith Dorr of Minneapolis, Mrs. R. Johnson and Roy Anderson of Shafer.

Born in Skane, Sweden, Aug 15, 1862 he came here in 1880 and went to the Twin Cities, then settled on a farm near Shafer 38 years ago. He was married to Alma Lindgren and has lived in the Shafer community ever since. He has been a member of the Taylors Falls Lutheran Church during the past 25 years, was on the Shafer Town Board and at one time on the creamery board of Palmdale.

J. L. Anderson of Shafer, whose death was announced in last week's Press, was laid to rest at Taylors Falls following services at the Lutheran Church, Rev. C. E. Cesander officiated. Pallbearers were: Charles Hedin, Charles Swenson, Charles Christman, Charles Magnuson, Charles Klinke, and Oscar Johnson. Mr. Anderson passed away at his Shafer farm home a week ago Friday. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons.
