Irene Ashford, 80, 819 Linlawn Drive, Wabash, died at 5:36 a.m. Monday at her home.

Mrs. Ashford was born in Spurgeon and has lived in Wabash for 15 years. She has also lived in Amboy for many years.

She was a licensed practical nurse and retired from Allen County hospital, Scottsville, Kentucky. She attended Allen Street First Baptist Church and was a member of the Senior Citizens and Jefferson Literary Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Margaret) Biggs, Wabash; five sons, Don Givens, Sand Springs, Okla., Paul Givens, Kokomo, Bill Givens, Wabash, Larry Givens, Akron, and John Givens, Visalia, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Robert (Imogene) Tevault, Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Grandstaff-Hentgen-Miner Funeral Home, 86 E. Main St., Wabash, with Dr. Curtis Brouwer officiating. Burial will be in the Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
