Lela Marquettie (Twilligear) Maness was the oldest daughter of James Samuel & Mattie (Odom) Twilligear. She had 8 siblings: Mable, Lola, Myrtle, Vera Ellen, Earl & Pearl (twins), Marvin & Tony Virgil Twilligear. Lela Marquette wed a Hiram E. Grundy on April 21,1912 in Grayson County Texas. To this union there was born 2 sons: James Hiram Grundy & Mattie Ellsworth Grundy. Hiram E. Grundy left her & the boys & they never saw him again after January 2, 1920. She filed for divorce on September 21, 1923. Her divorce became final on December 4, 1923. Then on the very same day, December 4, 1923 she wed Finis Kin "Frank" Maness. Finis Kin Maness had been married to a Myrtle Castell from Mineral Wells, Texas. Finis Kin & Myrtle wed on August 28, 1910. To their union there was 4 children born: Finis Niner, Francis Kinnith, Opal Luvestal & Ruby Merlene Maness. Myrtle passed away & is buried at Riverside Cemetery in Wichita Falls, Texas. After Lela Marquettie & Finis Kin wed they had two sons, Wesley Samuel & Harley K. "HK" Maness, Sr.
