Bob was the son of Robert Edward and Hattie Mae Summers Glasgow. He married the former Omy Elizabeth Rasberry and they had eight children.

Robert Hershel "Bob" and Omy Elizabeth Rasberry Glasgow died in a head on collision near Columbus, Texas. They were coming home from Galveston, Texas where Omy had been in the hospital with heart trouble. They owned and operated Bob's Trailer Camp at 804 East Seventh Street, Odessa, Texas. Bob Glasgow had worked putting steel tire clips (The steel tire clip is made of "cold rolled" 1/2-in. diameter steel) on highways for a living. His ancestors were from Scotland. Bob and Omy use to sing together. Folks from around Alvin liked to hear them sing.
