TRINITY -- Funeral for James W. "Shorty" Nelson, 73, of Moulton will be today at 2 p.m. at Moulton Church of God with the Rev. Oneal Franks and the Rev. Rick Taylor officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens with Parkway Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Nelson died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at home. He was born May 7, 1927, in Lawrence County to W.B. and Hattie Nelson. He owned Nelson Antiques and was a member of Moulton Church of God. He was the brother of the late Harrison Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Myrl Nelson; six sons, Marlon Nelson, Mark Nelson, Jim Nelson, Marvin Nelson and Timmy Nelson, all of Moulton, and Marlene Nelson Guttery of Centre; two brothers, Jack Nelson of Decatur and Tommy Nelson of Moulton; three sisters, Flossie Burns of Decatur, and Annie NeSmith and Ruth McCay, both of Moulton; 10 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Sons will be pallbearers.
