Harry Suman, 81, of route 6, two miles south of Pleasant Mills, a retired farmer, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday at the Adams county memorial hospital. He had been hospitalized three weeks and in failing health two months. Mr. Suman was a member of the Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church.
Born in Cincinnati, O., on March 17, 1892, he was the son of Otho and Prissila Brown-Suman, and was married on May 7 1911, to Bessie Drummond, who died on October 22, 1968.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thurman (Dora) Rayl of route 6; Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Hurst of route 6; 10 sons, Lester, of route 4, Bluffton, Otho of Angola; John of Bluffton; harry Jr. of Findley, O.; Rev. Harold of Defiance, O.; Walter of Willshire, O.; Kenneth of Willshire, O.; Gordon of route 6; Rev. Floyd of Galesburg, Ill.; and Donald of route 5; one foster sister, Mrs. Mary Ross of Decatur; 49 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. One son, Earl, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert E. James officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. tonight.
