George E Hall Sr., 81, died Thursday, December 3, 2009 in Dalhart, TX.
Services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, December 7th, 2009 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church Dalhart, TX with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery - under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart, TX

Officiating will be Rusty Hancock, Pastor – Lincoln St. Baptist Church

George was born the fourth child of ten children to Charlie and Maggie (Burkeen) Hall, on the 19th of December 1927 at Michigan Prairie (Fannin Co.) Texas. George spent his younger days on a farm at Petty (Lamar Co.) Texas. He loved plowing and planting cotton and corn. George's favorite past time as a young boy was spent trapping furs and selling them for spending money. He loved to fish, hunt and was an amateur arrowhead collector. He loved to sit around with his family and reminisce about the "good ole days". George left the farm and moved to Borger, Texas in 1947 where he met and married Jacqueline Lou Thomas, March 13, 1950. They made their first home in Pampa, Texas where George worked for Hughes Construction. He later transferred to Wichita Falls, Texas, then to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, then back to Wichita Falls, then to Dalhart. He retired in June 1968 after 20 years with Hughes Construction. He owned and operated his own business, Hall's Construction until his health forced his retirement in 1978. George was a member of the First Christian Church and The Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his sons: George E Hall, Jr and wife Ralene of LaPort, Texas, Gary and his wife Sheryl Hall fo Dalhart, TX, Richard and his wife Judy of Amarillo, TX Grandchildren: Cassie Miller, Sheldon Hall, Toby Hall, Brett and Jennifer Hall, Alysha and Brian Lovato, Whitney and Allen Marrow and Garret Hall and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Jackie, two brothers and one sister.
