Ida Wike Bentley, 66, of Rt. 5, Taylorsville, died Tuesday Sept. 20th at 11:50 a.m. in the Iredell Memorial Hospital, after a serious illness of six weeks. She was born in Alexander County on Aug. 5, 1917, and was the daughter of the late Partee Wike and Edith Mae Deal Wike. Her husband Grover Bentley preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Johnny Bentley of Alexander County; two sisters, Mrs. Fanny Lawing and Mrs. Anna Belle Neil, both of Kannapolis; and four step-grandchildren. The body will remain at Adams Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at Adams Funeral Home from seven until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 22nd, at 4 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Cecil Lovelace will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
