Dean Allen Green, 70, 974 Smalling Road, Johnson City, died Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center.


Mr. Green was a native of Avery County, N.C., and a son of the late Claude and Mabel McGuire Green. Mr. Green was a graduate of Cranberry High School. Elk Park, N.C. He had lived in Detroit for 25 years before returning to Carter County in 1988. He was a retired safety technician with the Chrysler Corporation of Detroit and had been an employee of the AmeriSource Corporation for a number of years. Mr. Green was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.


Survivors include his wife, Glenda Cook Green; a daughter, two sisters and brothers-in-law, and two brothers and sisters-in-law. Several nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, February 9, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Benny Hagie and Mr. Kenneth Jones officiating. Music was provided by the Chariott Trio. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, in the Flat Springs Cemetery, Elk Park, N.C.


Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
