J. E. Frazier, Pioneer, Buried at Linnell

Funeral services and burial rites for John E. Frazier, 77, pioneer resident of this community, who died September 1, at his home in Long Prairie, were conducted on Sunday afternoon at the family lot in Linnell Cemetery near Ponsford.

A son of the late E. S. Frazier, John was born July 8, 1862 in Vernon County, Wisconsin. At the age of 1 he came with his parents to this vicinity. The family settled in Osage Township.

John was married to Mary Christison of Osage and three daughters were born to the union, one dying in infancy.

Mr. Frazier was a photographer and operated shops in Eagle Bend, Staples and Long Prairie.
Mrs. Frazier died and several years later he was married to Leila Underwood of Staples. Three sons were born to the union.

Mr. Frazier ad been ill for some time having suffered two strokes of paralysis. Funeral services were held in Long Prairie.

Surviving are the wife Leila, two daughters and three sons all of whom were here for the burial rites and funeral. There is also a sister Mrs. Ora Spencer of this city and four brothers, D. W. Frazier, Osage township, Lorenzo D. Frazier, Verndale, and Bert and Fred who live in Orofino, Idaho.

Relatives in attendance at the services were Mrs. J. E. Frazier, Mr. and Mrs. Scow of Long Prairie, sons Jack of Wyoming, Bob of Valley City, ND, Dick Frazier, St. Paul; daughters Mrs. William Jahn, Montevideo, Mrs. Clark and sons Floyd and Byron of Rushmore and Miss Cox of St. Paul.

E. S. Frazier Post G. A. R. of this city was named after the deceased's father.
