Imo E. Baker, 90, of Elk Grove Village, a retired secretary, died Thursday in Alexian Brothers Hospice House in Elk Grove Village. Born in Marengo, Mrs. Baker moved to Elk Grove Village in 1971 and worked for several years as a secretary at the Arlington Heights Library. She retired in the late 1970s and was independent until two years ago, when she broke her hip. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. "She was a caring and quiet person," recalled her daughter in-law, Joyce Lowther. Other survivors include a son, Burton Lowther; a daughter, Judith Schierer; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Elk Grove Village. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 1072 S. Ridge Ave., Elk Grove Village.
