Connie J. Ackerson age 49, of New London, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, June 3, 2007, at her residence in rural New London. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in New London. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church and also for one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
Connie Jean Ackersn was born on November 12, 1957 in Detroit Lakes, the daughter of Richard and JoAnn (Anderson) Mohn. She was baptized at First Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Christian faith at Richwood Lutheran Church, both in Detroit Lakes. She grew up in Detroit Lakes and attended Audubon Public School, graduating in 1976. She later, continued her education at Wadena Technical Institute, graduating 1988. On June 15, 1976 she was united in marriage to Jeff Ackerson. To this union three daughters and one son were born. They made their home in Perham and the New York Mills Area for 18 years before moving to New London in 1993. Connie worked with Jeff in their home improvement business since moving to New London. Together, Connie and Jeff were able to share in 30 years of marriage.
Connie is remembered by her family for her caring and generous spirit, always thinking of others first. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, shopping, fishing, collecting dolls, taking pictures and family celebration.
Connie died unexpectedly Sunday morning, June 3, 2007 at her home near New London at the age of 49. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Ackerson of New London; children, Lisa (Ryan) Kluver of New London, Jenny Ackerson of New London, Anna (Nick) Bratsch of Fargo, ND, and Jeffrey (Sheena) Ackerson of Bird Island; one granddaughter; Haley Jo Ackerson; mother JoAnn Mohn of Pennock; father, Richard Mohn of Detroit Lakes; brothers, Kevin (Jill) Mohn of Frazee and Robert Mohn of Callaway; and sister Linda (Greg) Morris of Moorhead.
Connie was preceded in death by one brother and her grandparents.
