He was born on September 9, 1916, in Walthill, Nebraska, the son of Tom Zachary and Amelia Blanche (Gunsolley) Cooper. He attended the Nebraska country schools. During World War II, Mr. Cooper served in the U.S. Army. On December 10, 1968, he and the former Josephine Mable Manzer were married in Omaha, Nebraska. She preceded him in death in 1989. For 26 years, Mr. Cooper was a fabrication team supervisor at Eaton Sheet Metal in Omaha, Nebraska. He retired in 1983 when he moved to Independence. Mr. Cooper was a master pool player and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and working with livestock
