OBITUARY

Peter Lauridsen was born in Kolsnap Schleswig Hatheltin, Denmark, and died in Newcastle, Wyo., on May 16, 1918 at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 2 days.

He had been a Danish soldier and served in the war against Germany at the time they took Schleswig Holstein from Denmark.

He came to America in 1874, and settled in California and Nevada, during the mining boom, and returned to Denmark in 1879, and was married to Margaret Larsen, six months later he returned to America, and settled near Gayville, S. D. and lived there until 1916, when he came to Wyoming and purchased what is known as the Olsen ranch, where he resided until the time of his death. He is the last surviving member of his family.

He is survived by his wife and 4 children, who are as follows: Lewis and Nels H. who are residents of this county; H. Knute, cashier of a bank at Niobe, S. D., and Mrs. Veni Johnson of Liguette, N. D.

Rev. C. O. Jenning officiated at the funeral, and seven young ladies of Sundance rendered music suitable to the occasion.

[It may be a mispelling of Schleswig-Holstein where he was born. Present day Kolsnap appears to be in Sonderjylland, Denmark]
