Mary A. Smith Graham

Mary A. Smith Graham, 79, died at the McKay Dee Hospital on September 22, 2003. Mary was born February 2, 1924 to Plaz Smith and Levonia Scott in Hughes County, Oklahoma.

She grew up, was raised and educated in Oklahoma. She joined church at the age of 10 and was an active member of New Zion Baptist Church at the time of her death. She was a Sunday school teacher, worked in the mission and with the young people, sang in the choir and helped in many other capacities as requested during her life. She never worked outside the home, but was a good homemaker and assisted in rearing many children.

She is survived by two sons, Thurston (Margaret) Graham, Layton, UT, Harley Graham, Seattle, WA; three daughters, Roberta (James) Dixon, Gloria Jean Brown, Layton, UT, Mary L. (Daniel) Shields, Yuba City, CA; five granddaughters and five grandsons; six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters. She is also survived by one sister, Marietta Brockman, Tacoma, WA; one aunt, Velma Copeland, Chicago, IL; one Sister-in-law, Berlene Smith, Kansas City, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother. She will be greatly missed by all.
