WM. J. STEELE

A Prominent Citizen Who Died Re
cently at Robards

In memory of William J. Steele who
was born in Crittendon county, Ken-
tucky, August 23, 1854, and died June
13, 1904. Billie Steele, as he was
familiarly known, was one of _____
best citizens and neighbors in the
community; very industrious; always
had a pleasant greeting for his friends
and neighbors wherever he met them,
and was respected and honored by all
who knew him. He had been in ill
health for nearly four years, but had
been confined to bed nearly three
months with dropsy and heart trouble
during which time he suffered emencely.
But the family thought he was
improving until last Sunday evening he
grew much worse and continued to
sink rapidly during the night, until
just as the beautiful sunlight was
blazing upon the eastern horizon, his
spirit flew away to the God who gave
it. He leaves a wife and seven chil-
dren, an aged father and mother, six
brothers and three sisters to mourn
their irreparable loss. To the wife and
children who realize the greatest loss,
we reccommend Him who promises to
be a husband to the widow and a
father to the orphans. May the Lord
bless and comfort them in their deep
sorrow.
