Mrs. R.M. Chastain, who lived in Panhandle from 1930 to 1952, died at her home at 5:40 p.m. Sunday in White Deer following an illness of three years. She was 63 years old. Her husband was manager of the gas company here for many years.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Panhandle, of which she was a member. Rites were conducted by Rev. L.V. Ratliff, pastor of the White Deer Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. L.E. Barker, pastor of the White Deer Methodist Church.

Burial was in Panhandle cemetery under direction of Poston Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jack Ramey, Nolan Sparks, Frank Stephenson, Frank Sparks, Wallace Bichsel, Doyle Dyer, Bill Williams and Raymond Biggs.

Myrtle Bell Aldridge, daughter of Joseph and Frances Aldridge, was born June 12, 1891, at Tecumseh, Okla. She was educated in the public school at Tecumseh and was married Jan. 11, 1911, at Tecumseh to Robert Melvin Chastain. They lived at Tecumseh until 1922, in Henryetta, Okla., from 1922 to 1928, in Pampa from 1928 to 1930, in Panhandle for 22 years and in White Deer the past two years.

Her husband is manager of the municipal gas system at White Deer.

Survivors are a son, Ray Chastain, of Lefors; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Frances) Smith of White Deer and Mrs. C.J. (Mildred) Keuhler of Groom; brother, Henry Aldridge of Verdon, Okla., sister, Mrs. Lavina Tripp, Stecker, Okla.

Also, six grandchildren, Mrs. Ray Horn of Enid, Okla.; Margie Kay Chastain of Lefors; Kathy Kay Kuehler of Groom, and Ruth, Patsy and Betty Jo Smith of White Deer, and one great grandson, Mark Douglas Horn, Enid.

Mrs. Chastain was a member of a familyy [sic] of 10 brothers and 3 sisters. Nine brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

The ministers praised Mrs. Chastain for the courageous fight she made during her long illness.
