Earl Allen Bush was the son of Mary Elizabeth Tuttle, born in Canada, and Pieter Bos, whose parents immigrated to the US from the Netherlands. The surname "Bos" means bush or forest in Dutch. In 1910 and 1920, Peter Bos owned his farm in Rudyard Township, Chippewa County, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where Earl was born and raised.

Earl Bush (22), born in 1908 in Rudyard, Michigan, was the son of Peter and Mary E. (Tuttle) Bush. He married first Elsia K. [--?--] and divorced before December 1930.

Clara Isabel Potter (18), born in 1912 in Rudyard, Michigan, was the daughter of Hiram and Olive Myrtle (Banes) Potter. Earl and Isabel married in the county seat at Sault Ste. Marie, Chippewa County, Michigan, on 10 December 1930. They were divorced in 1973 in Sacramento, California.

On 17 November 1943, Earl enlisted in the Marine Corps and served during World War II until 10 January 1946. On 1 August 1945 PFC Earl Allen Bush of Pickford, Chippewa County, Michigan, was wounded in action. By the end of the war, he had been promoted first to lance corporal, then to corporal.

There are two markers. One is a bronze military marker. The other is a double tombstone with his first wife, Elsia, and next to the tombstone is a United States Marine Corps military flag holder.
