Former Arlington resident Jacqueline L. Sheets, 71, of Fremont, died Monday, May 2, 2006, at the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, at the Arlington Community Church with the Rev. Don Helmuth officiating. Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetry.

Jacqueline L. Sheets was born Sept. 23, 1933, in Blair to Renard and Edith (McMurterie) Ladd. She grew up in Blair, and also lived in Arlington and Fremont.

On July 17, 1949, she married Will L. Sheets at Tekamah.

Mrs. Sheets worked at the former Campbell's Soup Company in Fremont and at the Memorial Hospital of Dodge County, now known as the Fremont Area Medical Center. After her husband's death in 1991, she moved back to Fremont in 1992.

She was a member of the Arlington Community Church.

Mrs. Sheets is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Roxanne Sheets of Columbus, and Will III and Julie Sheets of Omaha; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marcia Nickerson of Craig, and Lori and Charles Reed of Arlington; stepmother, Beulah Ladd of Fremont; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon and Fred Shafer of Westminster, Colo., and Kathy Haswell of Oakland; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Will, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Charles and Ronald Ladd.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church.
